Soot is an aerosol formed by incomplete combustion of carbonaceous materials, and its formation in biomass gasification inevitable. It crucial to know the properties soot produced exhaust reactors order appreciate both advantages disadvantages. In this study, a variety analytical techniques were used examine content morphology top-lit updraft gasifier. The results experiment revealed that carbon oxygen make up majority soot, with minor amounts other components. Both aromatic aliphatic groups significant concentrations can be seen based on distribution functional groups. uneven, stratified, amorphous sample. Meanwhile, sample had surface area 193.8 m2/g pore diameter 2.68 nm. These porous qualities point potential use as adsorbent water filtration after activation.
